Guy Pearce had been linked to Ridley Scott's highly contested Alien prequel, Prometheus for some time. Last week news spread like wildfire that the actor was spotted on Prometheus' set in London. Was he dropping by to say "Hi" or was he in fact part of the production? Well news comes today via the Playlist that the actor indeed has been cast in the Sci-fi behemoth. No details are yet known of the capacity of his involvement. Here is what the site says: "The Playlist has learned that Guy Pearce has joined “Prometheus” with reps for the actor confirming his involvement. There’s no word yet on what his role in the film is, but he’s joining an already solid cast in the film that both is and isn’t a direct prequel to “Alien”—essentially, it will take place in the same world with some connective DNA stringing the two films together, but how much more than that it will be remains to be seen" This is great news, Pearce is a brilliant actor and there is something about even his recent cameo's that seem to give films that little bit more, The Hurt Locker, The Road etc.
