The first footage from director Alfonso Cauron's sci-fi thriller Gravity has been revealed via Entertainment Tonight. The trailer for the movie arrives this Thursday. Gravity hits theaters in 3D, 2D & IMAX 3D this October 4th, Dr. Ryan Stone [Sandra Bullock] is a brilliant medical engineer on her first shuttle mission, with veteran astronaut Matt Kowalsky [George Clooney] in command of his last flight before retiring. But on a seemingly routine spacewalk, disaster strikes. The shuttle is destroyed, leaving Stone & Kowalsky completely alone--tethered to nothing but each other & spiralling out into the blackness. The deafening silence tells them they have lost any link to Earth...& any chance for rescue. As fear turns to panic, every gulp of air eats away at what little oxygen is left. Relativity Media's reboot of James O'Barr's The Crow has found its leading man in Welsh actor Luke Evans who was also the original choice of Spanish filmmaker F. Javier Gutierrez. A slew of other actors including James McAvoy, Tom Hiddleston, Bradley Cooper, Marc Wahlburg & Alexander Skarsgard were all in the mix. Evans availability was the issue but the production company decided to push back the start of the movie until early 2014 to accommodate the actor who can be seen next in Fast & Furious 6. Evans is best known in Louis Letterier's Clash of the Titans in which he played the god Apollo. A year later he was one of The Three Musketeers in Paul W.S. Anderson's reimagining and then he stepped up to play the Greek God Zeus in Tarsem's Immortals. Evans fills the shoes of the late Brandon Lee who helped turn the original 1994 Alex Proyas-directed movie into a major cult hit.
Activision has officially announced Call of Duty: Ghosts. [After Tesco accidentally announced it.] Developed by Infinity Ward, the studio that created the original Call of Duty & the titular Call of Duty: Modern Warfare series. Call of Duty: Ghosts ushers in the next generation of the franchise. The new title will deliver a riveting all-new gameplay experience built on an entirely new story, setting and cast of characters, all powered by a new, next generation "Call of Duty" engine that redefines the series for the next generation. COD: Black Ops 2 never quite lived up to Treyarch's COD: Black Ops, which on reflection was a pretty good title in the series when it was finally 'finished' months after release with various updates & bug fixes. From today you can pre-order Call of Duty: Ghosts at retail outlets worldwide. The Game arrives for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Wii U, PC & the upcoming next-gen Xbox this November 5th. A third promo for Star Trek Into Darkness has arrived this time focusing on Lieutenant Uhura [Zoe Saldana]. The clip features some pretty interesting new footage revealing some Klingons. Star Trek Into Darkness hits IMAX theatres this May 15th before expanding to conventional theatres on May 17th. Summit Entertainment have released the first trailer for RED 2. The cliche ridden sequel stars Bruce Willis, John Malkovich, Mary-Louise Parker, Anthony Hopkins, Helen Mirren, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Byung Hun Lee, Brian Cox & Neal McDonough. In RED 2, the high-octane action-comedy sequel to the worldwide sleeper hit, retired black-ops CIA agent Frank Moses reunites his unlikely team of elite operatives for a global quest to track down a missing portable nuclear device. To succeed, they'll need to survive an army of relentless assassins, ruthless terrorists & power-crazed government officials, all eager to get their hands on the next-generation weapon. Walt Disney Pictures & Marvel Studios have released the first trailer for Thor: The Dark World. The movie, directed by Alan Taylor sees Chris Hemsworth return as the title character & is joined by Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Stellan Skarsgård, Idris Elba, Christopher Eccleston, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Kat Dennings, Ray Stevenson, Zachary Levi, Tadanobu Asano, Jaimie Alexander, Rene Russo & Anthony Hopkins. Thor: The Dark World hits theatres this November 8th. The sequel follows Thor as he battles to save Earth & all the Nine Realms from a shadowy enemy that predates the universe itself. Focus Features has released six new images plus a new TV Spot for their upcoming thriller The Place Beyond the Pines. Directed by Derek Cianfrance, the movie stars Ryan Gosling, Bradley Cooper, Eva Mendes, Rose Byrne, Mahershala Ali, Emory Cohen, Dane DeHaan, Gabe Fazio, Bruce Greenwood, Ray Liotta, Ben Mendelsohn & Harris Yulin. The Place Beyond the Pines powerfully explores the consequences of motorcycle rider Luke [Gosling]'s fateful decision to commit a crime to support his child. The incident renders him targeted by policeman Avery [Cooper] & the two men become locked on a tense collision course which will have a devastating impact on both of their families in the years following. Best known as Loki, God of Mischief, in Marvel Studios' Thor british actor Tom Hiddleston may well be donning a new guise in The Crow re-imagining. The Wrap reports that actor is early negotations to play Eric Draven in Relativity Media's reboot of James O' Barr's gothic cult comic character The Crow. Previously turned into a 1994 cult movie starring the late Brandon Lee, the story followed a man who returns from death to attain revenge on those who killed him. O'Barr wrote the original comic to deal with the death of his girlfriend. Spanish director F. Javier Guttierez is set to direct from a script by Cliff Dorfman. Production is slated to start in the fall. Hiddleston pushed for the role over dinner with the producers after doing his own make-up test in London with plans to do full makeup tests before making a final decision.
A bunch of new images [9] have surfaced online from Nicolas Winding Refn's upcoming revenge thriller Only God Forgives. The movie reunites Refn with star Ryan Gosling after their neo-noir crime thriller Drive. Kristin Scott Thomas, Vithaya Pansringarm, Tom Burke & Yayaying also star. Shot on location in Bangkok the movies score is by award-winning Drive composer Cliff Martinez. In the movie Gosling plays Julian, the son of a Florida-based crime syndicate boss [Scott Thomas], who is plying the drug trade in Thailand with his brother. When his addicted sibling gets involved in a murder & gets tangled up with a cop who calls himself the Angel of Vengeance, Gosling’s character, who is proficient in mixed martial arts, is compelled to seek revenge on behalf of his mother. Only God Forgives hits theatres this July 19th. Icon Film Distribution & Lionsgate will release the film in the summer in the UK, although NO date has yet been announced. Warner has launched the official website for Noam Murro's upcoming sequel 300: Rise of an Empire, re-using the original movie's official site 300themovie.com. Head over to check out a character guide & new stills for the sequel. 300: Rise of an Empire follows Zack Snyder's 300, based on Frank Miller's 1998 comic book miniseries & this time will focus on the story of Greek General Themistocles [Sullivan Stapleton] who lead Athens against Persian invaders in a battle that played out simultaneously with the Battle of Thermopylae [depicted in the first film]. Rodrigo Santoro reprises his role as Xerxes & Eva Green plays Artemisia. 300: Rise of an Empire also stars Lena Headey, Hans Matheson, Igal Naor, Callan Mulvey, Jack O'Connell & Andrew Tiernan.
