[Exclusive!] harhar HeatVision and Deadline are currently fighting over the news that Kristen Stewart is in negotiations over the title role in Rupert Sander's Snow White and the Hunstman. The film is an alternate take on the Brothers Grimm classic fairy tale and expands the role of the Huntsman to whom Viggo Mortensen is linked to play. Charlize Theron is also linked to play the Evil Queen. Stewart has been on top of the list of candidates for the role including: Riley Keough, Felicity Jones, Emily Browning and Alicia Vikander.
In the Brothers Grimm version, the Huntsman is ordered to take Snow White into the woods and snuff her, but instead he lets her go. In the new take, the Huntsman is not a love interest but, instead, a mentor, teaching Snow White to fight and survive against the evil Queen. Earlier, NewYorkDailyNews reported that Stewart met with director Zack Snyder and his producer wife Deborah to talk about the role of Lois Lane in Superman: The Man of Steel. Insiders claimed that the 20 year old actress "ultimately passed" on the chance since she is interested in "smaller independent films." Snow White & the Huntsman is set for release December 21, 2012.
