SkyMovies recently reported that Ridley Scott's Prometheus would in effect be closer to an Alien Prequel that many speculated. They stated that the film would feature Aliens [Xenomorphs], that sets are being constructed at Pinewood Studios and that part of the film is being shot in Morocco,
"Part of the film will be shot in Morocco. I’ve heard that some sort of archaeological dig where they discover alien DNA takes place there and that DNA gives them the coordinates for an alien world. I’ve also heard Morocco is being used for alien planet landscapes"
Now its has been confirmed that Prometheus will in fact be partially shot in Morocco. The news comes through [via Alienprequelnews] Nour-reddine Sail, head of the Moroccan Cinema Centre, and vice-president of the Marrakech Film Festival who states:
"Sail says he is expecting Ridley Scott to start shooting his next film, the upcoming Alien prequel, at the country’s southern Ouarzazate film studios next February and March."
Sky have been an excellent source of info in the past and this does seem to confirm their sources.
