Peter Weller has joined the cast of J.J. Abrams' forthcoming Star Trek sequel. The actor forever typecast as playing the title role in the 1987 classic RoboCop has also starred in other sci-fi classics Screamers, Naked Lunch & The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension. Deadline report there is no official word yet regarding who Weller will play in the movie. Star Trek 2 is set to hit worldwide on May 17, 2013. Roberto Orci, Alex Kurtzman & Damon Lindelof scripted the sequel. Chris Pine, Zach Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Anton Yelchin, Simon Pegg, Karl Urban & John Cho all star.
