A rivalry is unfolding between Universal Pictures and Relativity Media over their upcoming separate Snow White films. Deadline report that Julia Roberts and Charlize Theron are both up for the role of the evil Queen in the rival features.
Roberts is allegedly being pursued for the Relativity production from director Tarsem Singh, [now being referred to as The Brothers Grimm: Snow White]. Theron, meanwhile, is up for the part in Snow White and the Huntsman, which will be directed by Rupert Sanders. That film is also rumored to be after Michael Fassbender for the part of the titular Woodsman. The latter film has a planned release date of December 21, 2012 while the Relativity project has no specific release given.
