David Fincher
has cast Christopher Plummer for The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.
Plummer will play the pivotal role of the Vanger family patriarch according to
THR. The Vangers are the
wealthy family being investigated by Daniel Craig’s journalist Mikael Blomkvist and
Rooney Mara’s computer hacker Lisbeth Salander.
Originally the role was
supposed to go to Max Von Sydow,
but apparently, that didn’t happen. If you’ve seen the Swedish version of this story, then you
know Plummer’s a perfect fit to step right into that role. It’s Chris Plummer’s
character who hires them to solve the 40-year-old murder of his beloved niece. Filming is already underway on The Girl with the Dragon
Tatto in Sweden.
