Rooney Mara [The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo] has replaced Blake Lively as the lead female role in director Steven Soderbergh's The Side Effects. The actress joins Jude Law, Channing Tatum & Catherine Zeta-Jones in the psychological thriller set in the world of psycho-pharmacology aka the study of how drugs affect the human mind. Deadline reports that Zeta-Jones & Law play doctors & Mara will portray a woman who becomes addicted to prescription drugs & initiates an affair with Law's character. Tatum plays Mara's husband, a convict who is due to soon be released from prison. Scott Z. Burns penned the script. Production begins in April.
