'ALIEN VS PREDATOR' Actor Ian Whyte is Playing a Space Jockey in Ridley Scott's 'PROMETHEUS'!

20th Century Fox did a pretty good job with the first teaser trailer for Ridley Scott's Prometheus, the footage we had been waiting for so long to see revealed plenty of jaw dropping imagery coupled with Scott's signature perineal vacant dystopian vision of space. Even after the trailer the question still raged on 'is this a prequel?' That can be answered both ways but essentially yes it is. Scott's 1979 masterpiece Alien is undeniably stamped all over Prometheus & this was more than evident in the first trailer. Amongst all the discussion, the hype & debate related to Alien one unexpected appearance at first unnoticed by many really began to stir the pot. That was the inclusion of, well what seemed to be the first glimpse of a living Space Jockey standing upright at least 7 feet tall aboard the derelict Ship. Well today we have wind of a report that will shed a lot of light upon who the hell that is. Hit the jump for the details.

BloodyDisgusting [via AlienPrequelNews] report that Prometheus contains multiple types of Space Jockeys, one is referred to as "The Engineer" in the movie & Welsh actor Ian Whyte is playing one of them. The site states that Whyte is referred to as a "creator" or "God" in Prometheus. Below captured at 00:44 from the first official trailer. To find out more about the entity check out our article: The Secret of the Space Jockey.

This is not the first time the 7'11 actor has been involved in the Alien franchise, the actor also worked in costume as the Predator in both Alien vs. Predator films. Prometheus hits theaters this June 8th in 3D. Prometheus stars Noomi Rapace, Charlize Theron, Michael Fassbender, Idris Elba, Sean Harris, Kate Dickie, Guy Pearce, Rafe Spall, Benedict Wong, Emun Elliott & Logan Marshall-Green. Scripted by Damon Lindelof, Jon Spaihts & Scott. Check out one of my favorite videos below where Scott discusses making Alien & infamously being told 'there is no atmosphere in Space!'
