Marvel Studios & Disney have locked down Thor co-writer Don Payne to script the movies sequel. Payne will serve as the main scriptwriter for Thor 2, which will see Chris Hemsworth reprise his role as the God of Thunder. As we heard earlier Kenneth Branagh will not be returning to helm the sequel, although he is expected to stay on in a producing capacity. Deadline broke the news. Payne has already has a Super Hero sequel credits under his belt in Fantastic Four 2: Rise of the Silver Surfer. Thor 2 will hit cinemas later the same year on July 26. Update: Variety report the release date is now July 26th.
