I have a thing for motion posters and Lionsgate have just released one for Conan the Barbarian, its pretty sleek and atmospheric. The poster comes via IGN, who premiered it and the states that the poster is "a nod to the classic Conan imagery of the late artist Frank Frazetta. Indeed, the poster is an intentional effort to bring Frazetta’s vision of the character to life, just as the new film is a reincarnation and reinvention of the world’s most famous barbarian for modern audiences." And by the way Frank Frazetta, who passed away last year on May 10th is basically the artist that your favorite comic artist has been ripping off for the last 30 years. Hit the jump to check it out.
The film will hit theaters both in 2D and 3D on August 19 this year. Lionsgate also just launched the official website. Directed by Marcus Nispel for Nu Image/Millennium Films. Jason Momoa plays Conan opposite a cast that includes Ron Perlman, Stephen Lang, Rose McGowan and Rachel Nichols. I wonder if McGowan will reprise the Red Sonia thing through Lionsgate.
