ROBERT PATTINSON REPLACES COLIN FARELL IN DAVID CRONENBERG'S EPIC [COSMOPOLIS]

Hunk brit export Vamp Robert Pattinson has landed a lead role in David Cronenberg's Cosmopolis. The actor will replace Colin Farrell in the Canadian director's forthcoming adaptation of Don DeLillo's 2003 novel. The movie follows Eric Packer [Pattinson], a 28-year-old asset manager who risks his entire fortune to bet against the yen on a tumultuous day. This risky wager makes him a target for assassination in a drama that is a study of capitalism in a slightly futuristic metropolis. The majority of the scenes in the book take place in the limousine that transports Packer from place to place. Farrell opted out of Cosmopolis to commit to Underworld, Len Wiseman's forthcoming remake of 80's  sci-fi behemoth Total Recall, but Cosmopolis retains a strong cast including Paul Giamatti and Marion Cotillard
