HEATH LEDGER TO MAKE A CAMEO AS THE JOKER IN [THE DARK KNIGHT RISES]

A wild rumor is beginning to spread rapidly through the web, Showbiz Spy is claiming that director Christopher Nolan is set to bring back the Joker for a Cameo. Heath Ledger to be precise. Nolan will apparently employ a combination of unused footage from Ledger’s portrayal of The Joker in The Dark Knight with advanced CGI to create a scene in where there would be a “cinematic nod” to the late actor and the impact his Oscar-winning performance had on Nolan’s Batman sequel.

Showbiz Spy claims:

“The idea is to use these fragments of cut scenes and use CGI to have The Joker appear one last time…Chris wants some continuity between movies and for the franchise to pay tribute to Heath and his portrayal of the Joker…It would only be a fleeting moment in the movie and would only be included with the full consent of Heath’s family.”

Arnold Schwarzenegger made a similar cameo in Terminator Salvation so it is feasible, but is it probable? Well I don't see Nolan being that nostalgic so unless Studios are pressing it as The Dark Knight Rises is the closing film in the current franchise I would be surprised. Very.

Update: Unsurprisingly Christopher Nolan and his wife/producer Emma Thomas have denied any appearances of Heath Ledger’s Joker in The Dark Knight Rises. “I heard the rumor,” said Thomas to The Hollywood Reporter. “We’re not doing that.” The Internet rumors actually originated from stuff.co.nz, a New Zealand web site that stated the new Batman movie will use fragments of cut scenes and use CGI to have The Joker appear one last time.
