Magnet Releasing has acquired the U.S. rights to Brad Anderson’s [The Machinist]
Vanishing on
7th Street. The movie premiered at the Toronto International Film
Festival, where it screened as part of the Midnight Madness section.
Starring Hayden Christensen, John
Leguizamo and Thandie Newton, the story follows a group of survivors who find
themselves alone in Detroit, its population disappearing into thin air, and
they find they must survive a creepy, almost-living darkness. Magnet, which is the genre arm of Magnolia Pictures, will
release the film theatrically in February 2011.
