Paramount Pictures has released the first trailer for Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit. Chris Pine takes over the Tom Clancy character previously played by Alec Baldwin in The Hunt for Red October, by Harrison Ford in both Patriot Games & Clear and Present Danger & by Ben Affleck in The Sum of All Fears. Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit focuses on ex-Marine & Moscow-based financial analyst Jack Ryan, who uncovers a plot by his employer to finance a terrorist attack designed to collapse the US economy. Ryan must race against time to save America and his wife [Keira Knightley]. Kenneth Branagh is the movies director & villain, while Kevin Costner stars as William Harper, a legendary CIA Field Agent. Adam Cozad & Anthony Peckham penned the script with David Koepp polishing the most recent draft. Branagh recently described the movie as "an original story that allows us to understand how Jack Ryan develops into a CIA analyst, before joining, & perhaps even joining, the CIA. It’s a very contemporary action thriller set in the here and now." Colm Feore, Nonso Anozie, Karen David & Gemma Chan co-star. Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit arrives this December 25th.
