A bunch of set photos from the set of Matt Reeves' Dawn of the Planet of the Apes currently in production in New Orleans have leaked out. A street in New Orleans has been set up as an overgrown San Francisco indicated by a banner for the Fine Arts Museum of San Francisco & a broken down cable car. There is some very interesting graffiti on one of the buildings. The original image is that of a human face with the words "Human Nation" on the top & bottom, & as you can see a chimpanzee skull [with a biohazard symbol] have been painted over it. Dawn of the Planet of the Apes continues the story that began in 2011's Rise of the Planet of the Apes & features a cast that includes Andy Serkis, Jason Clarke, Gary Oldman, Keri Russell, Toby Kebbell, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Enrique Murciano, Kirk Acevedo, Jocko Sims & Judy Greer. In the film, a growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar is threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier. They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth's dominant species. Dawn of the Planet of the Apes will open on May 23, 2014. Hit the jump for the details.
