Michael Fassbender will star actor & co-produce in an adaption of Ubisoft Entertainment's best-selling franchise Assassin's Creed. The game is based on a man who finds out his ancestors were highly-trained killers after he is kidnapped by a secret organisation with ties to the Knights Templar & sent back in time to retrieve historical artifacts. "Michael Fassbender was our first choice," Jean-Julien Baronnet, CEO of Paris-based Ubisoft Motion Pictures, told Variety. "Michael is an extremely smart, talented, versatile and committed actor." Assassin's Creed games have sold over 30 million, with a new instalment of the franchise due out late this year. Details about the character Fassbender will play, who will direct and the release date have not yet been announced.
