Jackie Earle Haley has joined the cast of Jose Padilha's RoboCop reports Deadline. The actor is set to play Maddox, the military officer responsible for training Alex Murphy post injury as a cyborg. The movie set in the year 2029 focuses on multinational conglomerate OmniCorp -the center of robot technology advancement. Their drones are winning American wars around the globe & now they want to bring this technology to the home front. Alex Murphy is a loving husband, father & good cop doing his best to stem the tide of crime & corruption in Detroit. After he is critically injured in the line of duty, OmniCorp utilizes their remarkable science of robotics to save Alex’s life. He returns to the streets of his beloved city with amazing new abilities, but with issues a regular man has never had to face before. Haley joins a cast that includes Joel Kinnaman, Gary Oldman, Samuel L. Jackson & Hugh Laurie. RoboCop hits theaters August 9th 2013.
