J.J. Abrams has placed another movie project on his lengthy to-do list. Paramount Pictures has acquired a script titled God Particle. Penned by Oren Uziel very little details known other than it is a sci-fi project based on the after effects of a physics experiment with a large hadron accelerator that causes the Earth to vanish completely, the terrified crew of an orbiting American space station is left floating in the middle of now-even-more-empty space. When a European spacecraft appears on their radar, the Americans must determine whether it’s their salvation, or a harbinger of doom. Uzuel recently penned an action comedy for Sony Pictures called The Kitchen Sink, an alien invasion flick that includes zombies, vampires & humans. It has been reported that Abrams will not direct God Particle, but serve as the movies producer as it is produced under Abram's Bad Robot Production company. The movie may sound like a big budget concept, but allegedly it will have a budget of only around $5 million dollars.
