'THE BOURNE LEGACY' Producer Frank Marshall Wants Jeremy Renner & Matt Damon To Star In The Next Sequel!

The Bourne Legacy introduces Jeremy Renner's Aaron Cross to the franchise as Matt Damon's Jason Bourne bows out for this, the most recent installement but now producer Frank Marshall has admitted that he is keen to return Damon's Bourne for the next sequel. Kewl! Hit the jump for the details.

The Producer stated to Empire

"You see there are several different programs in the movie with different skill sets, All possibilities are open. My dream is that in the next one we see Matt and Jeremy team up."

On the differences between his character Aaron Cross & Bourne, Renner stated:

"He's coming from a completely different background to Jason. He knows exactly who he is; he signed up to this. He wants to be part of a team. I can tell you he was in the military then he joined this program. He's a person who wants to be part of something. He had nothing going on as a civilian so he became part of this military organization. He just wants to belong and have a sense of purpose. But then it's taken away."

Damon has expressed a desire to reprise his role as Bourne, stating back in December:

"I think if [Bourne Legacy] doesn't work, we can just ignore it and pretend it didn't happen, and that'd be fine. But I expect that it will work and only help us if we did another one, which I'd love to do."

The Bourne Legacy recently had its US release date pushed back a week to avoid overlap with The Dark Knight Rises. The movie hits theaters this August 10th in the US & August 13th in the UK.
