Rating has been a recent hot topic when it comes to Ridley Scott's Prometheus. There were rumors circulating last year that the movie would hit theaters with a PG-13. Naturally, fans were less than impressed. In Empire magazine's upcoming Prometheus special the director stated that: "I'll do everything I can to get the most aggressive film I can." Sounds hopeful, to hear more from Scott, in fact to check out the entire Empire special including extensive interviews with the main cast hit the jump for the details.
Synopsis: "In the distant future, two superpowers control Earth and fight each other for all the solar system’s natural resources. When one side dispatches a team to a distant planet to terraform it for human colonization, the team discovers an indigenous race of bio-mechanoid killers. Ridley Scott, director of ‘Alien’ and ‘Blade Runner,’ returns to the genre he helped define. With PROMETHEUS, he creates a groundbreaking mythology, in which a team of explorers discover a clue to the origins of mankind on Earth, leading them on a thrilling journey to the darkest corners of the universe. There, they must fight a terrifying battle to save the future of the human race."
Scott on Rating:
Ridley Scott: "The question is, do you go for the PG-13, [which] financially makes quite a difference, or do you go for what it should be, which is R? Essentially, it's kinda R. It's not just about the blood, it's about ideas that are very stressful. I'm not an idiot, but I'll do everything I can to get the most aggressive film I can."
