Jane Levy Lands Female Lead in Fede Alvarez's Remake of Sam Raimi's 'THE EVIL DEAD'!


Yesterday it was revealed that Shiloh Fernandez has been cast as the male lead in Fede Alvarez's remake of Sam Raimi's Evil Dead. Today its reported that actress Jane Levy has landed the lead female role in the upcoming remake. The actress replaces Lily Collins, who had to drop out due to scheduling conflicts. Deadline report that Levy will play Mia, a character that correspond to Ash [Bruce Campbell in the original]. Mia is one of five friends holed up at a remote cabin where they discover a Book of the Dead. A demonic force is unleashed possessing each until only one is left to fight for survival. Alvarez scripted the remake with screenwriter Rodo Sayagues. Diablo Cody came in & revised drafts. Original producing partners Rob Tapert, Bruce Campbell & original director Sam Raimi will produce. Ghost House Pictures partners Joe Drake & Nathan Kahane will executive produce. The movie will begin production soon in New Zealand & will hit theaters April 12th 2013.
