One day following the settlement of their lawsuit Relativity Media & The Weinstein Company’s Dimension Films have announced that they have signed up F. Javier Gutiérrez [Before The Fall] to direct their reboot of The Crow, Alex Proyas' 1994 cult movie based on the comic book series & comic strip by James O’Barr. Screenwriter Jesse Wigutow has also signed on to pen the reboot. Relativity says its adaptation of the 1994 cult classic will be "a gritty reboot of the iconic character Eric Draven, who returns from the grave as The Crow on a mission to avenge his wife's murder, so that his soul can finally rest." The studio hasn't yet announced a release date or cast. The original film is known for its breakthrough visual style as well as its unique production design & cinematography. The movie is being produced by Edward R. Pressman, Jeff Most & Relativity’s CEO Ryan Kavanaugh. Relativity’s Tooley, The Weinstein Company’s Harvey & Bob Weinstein & Farah Films’ Dan Farah will executive produce.
