Scarface is set to be remade, for the third time. The original movie was shot by Howard Hawks back in 1932 & focused on a gangster's rise to power. The movie was based on the 1929 Armitage Trail novel of the same name. In 1983, director Brian De Palma with a script by Oliver Stone created the masterpiece that we all know, a modernized update of the story with Al Pacino playing Cuban gangster Antonio Raimundo 'Tony' Montana. Today Deadline report that producers Martin Bregma & Marc Shmuger [Producer of De Palma's Scarface] are going to update the story to present day with an aim to stay away from any specific remake elements outside of the basic storyline and the title.
