Some casting developments are taking place in regards to writer/director James Ponsoldt's Smashed. Mary Elizabeth Winstead along with Aaron Paul have signed on to lead the indie flick. The movie focuses on Winstead and Paul playing a married couple with a pechant for booze. Based loosely on the 1962 film, Days of Wine and Roses, the movie explores what happens to their relationship when Winstead’s character makes a move towards sobriety and attends AA. In addition to Winstead & Paul, Variety state that Octavia Spencer & Nick Offerman are also in negotiations.
