The first clip has been released [via Empire] from Tomas Alfredson’s [Let The Right One In] adaptation of John Le Carre’s acclaimed Cold War thriller spy novel Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy. The film debuts at the Venice Film Festival this weekend & includes a masterclass within its extended cast. Gary Oldman is joined by George Smiley, Benedict Cumberbatch, David Dencik, Colin Firth, Stephen Graham, Tom Hardy, Jared Harris, Ciarán Hinds, Svetlana Khodchenkova, Roger Lloyd Pack & Mark Strong. Set during the 1970s, Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy focuses on George Smiley [Gary Oldman] a recently retired MI6 agent, doing his best to adjust to a life outside the secret service. However, when a disgraced agent reappears with information concerning a mole at the heart of the Circus, Smiley is drawn back into the murky field of espionage.
