Universal Drop their Big Screen Adaption of 'OUIJA'! MCG & Michael Bay Not Impressed!

Universal Pictures have dropped their big screen adaption of the Hasbro board game Ouija. No surprises. The Jumanji Clone movie was set to be directed by McG [Terminator Salvation] & produced by Michael Bay. The studios will have to compensate Hasbro with $5 million dollars for dropping the project as laid out in their original 2008 contract. Ouija was one of a number of Hasbro adaptations that Universal were eyeing over a six year deal, the others including Battleship, Stretch Armstrong & Candy Land. No clear reason has been given for the turnaround other than its obviously a ridiculous idea in the first place. Screenwriter Simon Kinberg penned the draft but don't blame him. Vulture broke the news & also states that McG and Bay are now taking meetings with other studios but Paramount have reportedly passed on the project despite having already achieved success by adapting Hasbro's Transformers. Leave it dead in the water gentlemen. Dead in the dirt.
