Laurence Fishburne has been cast in Zack Snyder's Superman: Man of Steel as 'Perry White' that really annoying 2 dimensional frisbee Editor-in-Chief of The Daily Planet. EW broke the story. The character made his first appearance in Superman #7 in 1940 and was famous for his steadfast journalistic integrity. The late Jackie Cooper played White in the original Richard Donner Superman movies with Frank Langella performing as the character in Bryan Singer's 2006's Superman Returns. Michael McKean guest-starred as White on the television adaptation, Smallville. Fishburne will join Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Diane Lane, Kevin Costner, Michael Shannon, Antje Traue, Russell Crowe, Julia Ormond, Christopher Meloni & Harry Lennix for the movie, currently in production. Superman: Man of Steel hits theaters June 14th 2013.
