Interesting one, a rumor started to circulate earlier this month that acclaimed actor Lance Henriksen [Aliens, Alien 3 & AVP] was secretly involved in Ridley Scott's Prometheus. Henriksen who portrayed the android 'Bishop' in Aliens later appeared in Alien 3 & AVP as 'Charles Bishop Weyland' the original designer of the droid who shaped his creation on his own appearance. As you guessed from the name Weyland is a co-founder of Weyland Yutani & thats not so good. In the good old days of last May when Alien Prequel was a prequel & Ridley Scott frequently referenced the corporation that was in the making Hendrickson seemed to have a job, not today. Scott: "It's Weyland. Weyland hasn't joined Yutani yet, so they go and see Weyland. [The film] is about the discussion of terraforming - taking planets and planetoids and balls of earth and trying to terraform, seed them with the possibilities of future life." The initiative will be led by the Weyland Corporation, an early iteration of the Weyland-Yutani Corp. that causes so many problems throughout the series. In an interview with Dread Central [via the excellent Alien Prequel News] the actor commented on the idea while promoting his brilliantly named biography 'Not Bad For A Human'.
Henriksen: "I don't know whether or not the character of Weyland is in Prometheus or not, but I know that I haven't ever been contacted to be a part of it. I know there are rumors out there about my involvement, but I honestly don't know much about the production at all. But knowing the kind of director Ridley is, I'm really intrigued to see what he does with the movie."
