Gareth Edwards is a busy man. The director famed for his low budget Indie hit Monsters is currently attached to direct the new Godzilla movie for Legendary Pictures. A sequel to Monsters is currently in development & he's also been developing a sci-fi project with Timur Bekmambetov. The latter is the one we are interested in today. Little info is out there other than the film is described as an "epic human story, set in a futuristic world without humanity." Today the good folks at /Film have got some pretty interesting details. Hit the jump to check it out.
/Film: "The still untitled project is about a young human child (probably around 5 years old) and a robot who travel across the galaxy in search of mankind’s origin in a world void of humanity and filled with robots. Sounds pretty awesome right? Gareth is pitching this project as 'a robot Star Wars."
The script is still currently in development & its also believed that the film will shoot on a $35 million dollar budget, which is more than what Neil Blomkamp had for District 9. Which is quite extraordinary if you think about it like a fookin' Prawn.
