Director David Yates Will Adapt Stephen King's 'THE STAND' for Warner Bros!


Warner Bros announced earlier this year that they were planning to adapt Stephen King's 1974 novel The Stand. Today HitFix reports that the studios are negotiating to bring David Yates onboard as director & Steve Kloves as screenwriter. The novel has been previously adapted as a television miniseries in 1994 & tells the story of a full-scale apocalypse, driven by the accidental release of a biological weapon & the ensuing struggle of good versus evil. The virus wipes out most of the American population, the struggle boils down to a group of survivors fighting the Antichrist-like Randall FlaggThe book has been cited as an influence by many including Damon Lindelof who referenced it for Lost. YatesKloves previously collaborated on the final three Harry Potter movie would reportedly bring the adaption in multiple parts.
