Warner Bros Lock Down Director Noam Murro to Helm '300' Prequel '300: BATTLE OF ARTEMISIA'

Its nothing unexpected but THR confirm that Warner Bros have locked down Noam Murro to direct their upcoming prequel to Zach Snyder’s 300. The title is 300: Battle of Artemisia. Five-time DGA nominated commercials director Murro was in contention for the project alongside Jaume Collet-Serra [Unknown] who is now in negotiations with the studios to take on directing Akira. Originally titled 'Xerxes', 300: Battle of Artemisia is based on Frank Miller’s upcoming graphic novel that focuses on 'Xerxes', the Persian leader from 300 as he searches for godhood after the death of his father, battling an Athenian warlord named Themistocles. Much like 300 the focal point of the movie is a battle, and in this case its the battle of Artemisium [480 BC]. Snyder was set to direct right after 300 but got distracted by Christopher Nolan & Superman: Man of Steel
