Two of the most anticipated films this upcoming fall have been given release dates. Fox Searchlight [via BoxOfficeMojo] have moved up Alexander Payne‘s The Descendants from December 16th 2011 to a limited release on November 23rd 2011 & Lars Von Trier's Melancholia gets a November release date. The new date for The Descendants sets it against The Weinstein Company’s The Artist, as well as Martin Scorsese's Hugo, The Muppets, Piranha 3DD, & Arthur Christmas. George Clooney stars in the adaption of Kaui Hart Hemmings novel. Shailene Woodley, Beau Bridges, Robert Forster, Judy Greer, Matthew Lillard, Nick Krause, Amara Miller, Mary Birdsong, Rob Huebel & Patricia Hastie all co-star and you can watch the trailer below.
The Playlist also reveal that Von Trier's "psychological disaster" film Melancholia now arrives November 11th 2011 alongside Immortals & Jack and Jill. Kirsten Dunst, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Kiefer Sutherland, Charlotte Rampling, John Hurt, Alexander Skarsgård, Stellan Skarsgård & Udo Kier all star in the film described as the tale of two sisters whose relationship changes when earth comes close to being hit by another planet..
