20th Century Fox hired Noam Murro back in February to develop Die Hard 5, but Murro decided to focus on sweaty men in the 300 prequel 300: Battle Of Artemisia which left Die Hard 5 between a rock & a hard place 'aka' in need of a new director. TwitchFilm are reporting that John Moore [Behind Enemy Lines] "has been told that the film is essentially his to take or leave", but nothing is yet officially confirmed. The film "will be set largely in Russia with John McClane accompanied there by his son and the two drawn into a conflict with local forces." The script has been written by Skip Woods [X-Men Origins: Wolverine] but will likely see rewrites once a new director comes in. McClane Jr. was a small boy in the first film and hasn’t been back since so thats a considerable time difference to incorporate and to take the story down that route is a bit of a cheap parlor trick.
