Alexandra Daddario [Percy Jackson & the Olympians] has been confirmed to play the female lead in Lionsgate's Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D, the sequel to Tobe Hooper's 1974 original cult thriller. Directed by John Luessenhop [Takers] the new movie hits theaters on October 5th, 2012. Daddario was linked to the project last week but today EW confirm the casting. The sequel, set in the present day begins with a mob burning down the Sawyer house, along with its residents, who include ole' Leatherface and his father Drayton [Bill Moseley]. The community becomes safer until killings begin to happen again and many fear that Leatherface is alive and seeking revenge. Soon after, Heather [Daddario] discovers that there is an inheritance to collect and travels south to Texas with her friends. Heather learns that Leatherface is actually her cousin and as more people begin to die, she must figure out who is behind the murders. "It’s going to be rough," Daddario told EW. "I tried out Bikram yoga, that crazy hot yoga, to get used to the heat. But it’s actually good because it brings a sense of realism to what you’re doing. It will definitely be an experience." The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D hits theaters Oct 5th 2012.
