'FIGHT CLUB' Screenwriter Penning TRENT REZNOR'S HBO Series 'YEAR ZERO'

Here is one that slipped by, Trent Reznor’s previously reported mini-series based on Nine Inch Nails’ 2007 concept album Year Zero is getting closer to a production date. THR reported that Kim Uhls who scripted the adaption of Chuck Palahniuk's 1999 novel Fight Club has been reined in to write the HBO show. The mini-series, and the album that spawned it are set in a dystopian 2022 and is being funded as a co-production between HBO and BBC Worldwide. The 2007 concept album is a satire on the American political system, describing a dystopian state heading towards the end of the world and "the erosion of freedom". The story, about a "Bureau of Morality" forming in the wake of a nuclear war between America and Iran, takes place in 2022, the same year as Soylent Green. Reznor says it's "an essay about where the world might be if we continue down this path..." I like it.
