The Director Of "THE HUMAN CENTIPEDE II" Reacts To UK Ban

Yesterday, the UK Film Board [BBFC] refused to grant director Tom Six's Human Centipede II (Full Sequence) a certificate, meaning that it is illegal to show the Film in any UK theatre. Today TotalFilm caught up with the director and "talked about it." Hit the jump to read the directors statement.

Six's Responce to TotalFilm.

"Thank you BBFC for putting spoilers of my movie on your website and thank you for banning my film in this exceptional way. Apparently I made an horrific horror-film, but shouldn't a good horror film be horrific? My dear people it is a fucking MOVIE. It is all fictional. Not real. It is all make-belief. It is art. Give people their own choice to watch it or not. If people can't handle or don't like my movies they just don't watch them. If people like my movies they have to be able to see it any time, anywhere, also in the UK."

Generally speaking, its a surprise that the Film was banned in such a way, the original was very camp actually. I think Six maybe in a way is being satirical, much akin to Pier Paulo Passolini in the 60's. The director knows how the original Film was described as "pornographic" and this sequel may well be his response on cultural versatility. Modern horror is too crass and predictable and certainly Six's sequel if you take in his comments is a departure from the typical slasher nonsense around these days and at its simplest is Post Modern. Its really down to a viewers choice and I think the UK film board really need to clarify "obscene" and not post spoilers of others work.
