Darren Aronofsky is on track to adapting the biblical tale of Noah and his Ark for his next feature film project. IFCNews recently caught up with the director at the 2011 Provincetown International Film Festival and Aronofsky briefly gave some info on the idea and how it may be far larger in scope than anything he's ever attempted before. Hit the jump for the details.
Aronofsky stated:
"I want to make a big event film, and I think it can be that."
It had been previously suggested that Aronofsky is looking at a budget of approximately $130 million.
"I don't think it's a very religious story, I think it's a great fable that's part of so many different religions and spiritual practices. I just think it's a great story that's never been on film."
The director did not give any info regarding the rumors that he is considering at casting Christian Bale in the lead.
