That Damon Lindelof, probably best known for his work on TV series LOST and his collaborations with J.J Abrams on flicks such as Star Trek has signed on to both write and produce a "mysterious project" titled 1952 for Disney. Deadline breaks the news but little is actually known about the project at this point, but we do know that the movies budget is large and its a sci-fi project designed to launch a franchise. Lindelof's most recent efforts include a significant rewriting of Ridley Scott‘s Alien prequel where it became an "original" project. Disney have a lot of faith in him as God knows how hard it is to launch an original Sci-fi franchise onto the big screen.
