Kate Beckinsale has officially joined the cast of Total Recall. The British actress will play "Lori" [Sharon Stone's character in the old version]. Len Wiseman [Beckensale's Husband] is directing the remake for Sony. The news comes via Collider who also report that Jessica Biel has also joined the cast and will play the other female lead "Melina". There's more, THR report that Bill Nighy [Pirates Of The Caribbean] has also joined the remake as "Quatto" a leader of the resistance. The trio join Colin Farrell who plays "Douglas Quaid", Ethan Hawke who has an undisclosed cameo & Bryan Cranston [Breaking Bad] who plays the villain "Vilos Cohaagen" [the leader of Euromerica] in Toronto where filming is slated to begin this Monday. The remake will apparently be closer to Phillip K. Dick’s Novel than the 1990 Arnold Schwarzenegger movie with no trip to Mars.. Dang and is slated to eventually hit theaters August 3rd 2012.
