Director Gary Ross is currently in Pre-Production in Shelby, North Carolina for his upcoming adaption of Suzanne Collins' Novel The Hunger Games. Today an image has arrived from the set which offers a brief glimpse at "District 12", the home district of "Katniss Everdeen" [Jennifer Lawrence]. It may be a
f**king shed minimal shot but its enough to get excitement building. Hit the jump to get a clearer view.
On top of that a local radio DJ, Noel Manning commented on the District 12 set being constructed in his hometown. "It's huge. It's huge! I think the fact that you've got a movie based on the book with such an incredible following is one thing. Any town that lands the opportunity to have part of the film shot in that location is pretty amazing. (This is) where The Hunger Games begin. That's where the activity begins so when you see behind us something that says District 12, you realize, wow, OK, this is a major part of the film right here in Shelby." The Hunger Games hits theaters March 23rd 2012.
