20th Century Fox have edited the title of the previous Rise of the Apes to Rise of the Planet of the Apes. Directed by Rupert Wyatt, the prequel stars James Franco, John Lithgow, Freida Pinto, Andy Serkis, Brian Cox, Tom Felton and David Oyelowo. Set in present day San Francisco the story follows "Caesar" of who appears in previous titles as the hyper-intelligent ape offspring of time-traveling Cornelius and Zira. In Conquest of the Planet of the Apes, a grown-up Caesar played by Roddy McDowell, led a simian uprising in a totalitarian society that used apes for cheap labor. In this new film, Caesar is the product of genetic manipulation by scientists with good intentions. Those good intentions don't stop Caesar from starting a primate invasion that results in a world ruled by damn dirty apes. The Rise of the Planet of the Apes hits theaters August 5th.
