Irish actress Paula Malcomson [Caprica, Fringe] has joined the cast of Lionsgates' highly anticipated big screen adaptation of Suzanne Collins' The Hunger Games. THR report that Malcomson will play the part of "Mrs. Everdeen", i.e Katnis's [Jennifer Lawrence] Mother. The film is based on the novel which takes place in a dystopic future and the annual "Hunger Games," a fight to the death on live television. Willow Shields has been cast as "Prim Everdeen" to complete the Everdeen family. Josh Hutcherson plays "Peeta Mellark" and Liam Hemsworth plays "Gale Hawthorne". The Hunger Games hits theaters March 23rd, 2012. I highly recommend the book if you are not familiar with it.
