JOSEPH GORDON-LEVITT'S CHARACTER IN [BATMAN: TDKR] HAS A CONNECTION TO THE JOKER

Yesterday Warner revealed the cover characters that Marion Cottilard and Joseph Gordon-Levitt would be playing in Christopher Nolan's Batman The Dark Knight Rises. Cottilard would assume the role of Talia "Miranda Tate" and interestingly it appears that Levitt's "Gotham City Beat Cop named John Blake" actually appears as a kid in a Batman comic Comedy of Tears as "Johnny Blake. The plot is thus "the Joker's latest scheme is to make people cry, with tragedy forming the other half of comedy. In the specific scene The Joker runs up to a very young Johnny Blake, who is excited to show his father a perfect school report card filled with A's, grabs it, and runs off. The young Blake is left crying because his father will never believe that he went from D's to A's at school, or that it was actually stolen from him. The Joker laughs at the fact he made Blake cry as he runs away. What a f****ng d**k. Props to GeekTyrant.
