Shane Black recently spoke at the Omaha Film Festival and the director was questioned about Iron Man 3, which he was recently attached to direct. Black revealed that he's scheduled to meet later this week with Robert Downey Jr, who will be contributing to the story, and that Black himself will be writing the script as well as directing. He also stated that the studios plan on going back to "self-contained single-character stories" and "Iron Man 3 will not be another 'two men in iron suits fighting each other' film. Instead, it will be more like a Tom Clancy-thriller, with Iron Man fighting real world villains." Interesting and well done to the studios, Black will certainly bring some personality to the character. Iron Man 3 will hit theaters May 3, 2013.
