Producer Jerry Bruckheimer is developing a "space adventure" film after a successful pitch by screenwriter Jon Spaihts. Spaihts who successfully pitched his Alien Prequel script to Ridley Scott's Scott Free Productions prior to subsequent rewrites by Damon Lindelof leading to a film titled Prometheus, is a considerable expert within the industry, previously referred to as the "go to guy for Space thrillers". Little details are known as yet, Variety broke the story. Spaihts also wrote the upcoming sci-fi thriller The Darkest Hour in 3D which opens in August and stars Olivia Thirlby. The screenwriter broke into the Industry with two exceptional spec scripts: Shadow 19 and Passengers, both science fiction, space based behemoths.
