The Movie Blog-father himself has received word that a sequel to Tron: Legacy is “incredibly close” to being announced and that Legacy is set to cross the $300 million mark worldwide, which "is a significant enough figure to greenlight a follow up." The international box office take for Legacy basically underperformed and is still $40m shy of reaching its budget of around $170m, but even if Legacy makes it’s budget back in the US putting money into a third installment at this stage would require quite a leap of faith by Disney, but it does help when Sean Bailey one of the film’s producers, is now Disney’s head of production. All they need now is to get the script right, finally. Which they have already commissioned.
