Sky Movies are reporting that Ridley Scott's Prometheus is not such a departure from the franchise as many initially speculated. In fact Sky claim that the Space Jockey cockpit which was discovered on Acheron LV-426 by the crew of the Nostromo is currently being re-built at Pinewood Studios and Aliens [Xenomorphs] do feature in Prometheus as "an integral part of the plot." Sky Movies has been an excellent source of Alien Prequel inside info in the past and one of the most concrete movie sources out there.
Sky's source states:
"Despite that press release that seemed to indicate there were no aliens in the movie, the familiar HR Giger-style aliens do appear. Big ones apparently." "Part of the film will be shot in Morocco. I’ve heard that some sort of archaeological dig where they discover alien DNA takes place there and that DNA gives them the coordinates for an alien world. I’ve also heard Morocco is being used for alien planet landscapes so I’m not sure if it’s an archaeological dig on another planet"
That sounds literally like a possible continuation from the actual storyline of Scott's 1979 Alien, whats also quite interesting as one of the more far out rumors we came recently involved pyramid set construction in Africa. Sky's source continues..
"The main spaceship in the film will be piloted by an enormous head which I assume will be CGI. Yep, sounds weird but I assume some of the technology will be sort of biomechanical."
This does seem to further the idea that Prometheus does refer to a Terra-forming ship based on the original Alien Prequel writer Jon Spaihts earlier script Shadow 19. See here for more details. Also another description of the Prometheus in Spaiht's Shadow 19 script:
