Now thats pretty unexpected Gareth Edwards has been named as the director for Warner Bros & Legendary Pictures Godzilla reboot by HeatVision. Edwards broke out earlier last year with Monsters, produced for a famously low six-figure budget and previously was attached to science fiction film with Timur Bekmambetov. The new film has been compared to that of Batman Begins, reinventing the character but staying true to his Japanese roots. Warner released some concept art of the re-design last summer. David Callaham [The Expendables] penned a first draft of the film but a new writer is expected to rewrite soon. The film is planned for an unspecified 2012 release. Good luck Ed.;)
