More Alien Prequel casting news has been circulating, this time originating from Vulture. The site claims that Charlize Theron is considering a lead in Ridley Scott's Alien Prequel as Fox re-writing the role for her so that it’s larger and more "befitting". I seriously doubt this and dont think Ridley Scott would accomodate Studio interference of this magnitude incl commercial protocols especially with a film like Alien.
Vulture i.e The New York Times have already put some pretty erroneous Alien Prequel rumors out there before. This time they state "Twentieth Century Fox is working overtime to re-jigger its planned prequel to Ridley Scott’s Alien [Prequel]" Theron has been linked to a number of upcoming projects and one major problem is that Alien Prequels production schedule would more than likely clash with a couple: Theron recently dropped out of Clint Eastwood’s next project, FBI biopic J. Edgar, and signed on to star in Snow White And The Huntsman. Not only this but Theron has also signed on for Mad Max: Fury Road which as of yesterday looks like production is back on for 2012. Vulture's sources i.e "knowledgeable insiders" sounds a lot like their last sources "insiders familiar with the situation". So I would be pretty dumbfounded if any of this was true. I prefer the other Vulture rumor: Alien Prequel's title sounding like a Shampoo.
